1998 TO 2000

The Society was now well established at 22 Lowther Street. Three surveys were carried out to assess the needs of the visually impaired in West Cumbria. These highlighted the need for a home support service, access to specialist equipment, access to computers including software specifically designed for the visually impaired and access for the general public to the centre for information about equipment and services.

The Staff at this time were Pat (Project Manager), Angela (Secretary) and Mark (Information Officer).

Pat Fitzgerald with the help of Mark Casey set up a Visually Impaired Persons Club (VIP Club) in St. Michael’s Day Centre, Workington. This proved to be very popular.
