CHANGE In 1996 the Committee voted to change our title from ‘West Cumbria Society for the Visually Impaired’ to West Cumbria Society for the Blind. This was approved by the Charity Commissioners in Liverpool. RESOURCE AND INFORMATION DAYS The Information days were originally held every month in villages and towns around West Cumbria, but as the service expanded West Cumbria Society for the Blind were regularly invited to schools, residential homes, day clubs and centres to give talks and raise awareness of visual impairment.
